Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know

No. Most UK universities accept a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate as proof of English proficiency. If your Class 12 or UG was taught in English with 70%+ marks, many universities waive IELTS entirely. Where required, IELTS 6.0–6.5 overall is standard.
Master's: 55–60% in UG. Bachelor's: 70% in Class 12. Work experience significantly strengthens MBA applications. UK universities have pathway programs and conditional offer systems — even borderline profiles often get in. We assess your full profile and find the right fit.
UK universities follow a rolling intake system with primary intakes in September/October and May/June. Many universities also offer January intakes. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis — applying earlier gives you more choice and scholarship opportunities.
The Graduate Route allows you to stay and work in the UK for 18 months (Master's) or 24 months (Bachelor's) after your degree. No job offer required — it's an open work permit. You can work in any role and switch jobs freely.
Yes. International students can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays. UK national minimum wage is £11.44/hour — significantly helping with living expenses.
The IHS gives you full access to the NHS — UK's free healthcare — during your stay. Paid upfront at approximately £776/year. This means GP visits, hospital treatment and prescriptions are free or subsidised. Gateway assists with the full visa process including IHS.
CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is a unique reference number issued by your UK university once you have an unconditional offer and have paid your deposit. It is mandatory to apply for your Student Visa. Gateway guides you through the full process.
Standard processing: 3–4 weeks after biometrics. Priority service: 5 business days (additional fee). Several Gateway students have received their visa within 72 hours on priority service.
Yes, in many cases. UK universities have foundation pathways and some accept profiles with lower marks if you have strong work experience — especially for MBA. Book a free consultation — we'll assess your complete profile and find the right pathway.
No. The UK does not require a blocked account. For your Student Visa you need to show sufficient funds — typically £1,023/month for living (outside London) or £1,334/month (London) for up to 9 months, plus your full tuition fee. Gateway advises on exact documentation.
