About us
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) was founded in 1887 and is a recognised public historically black university in Tallahassee, Florida. Given the fact that FAMU is the only historically black public university in Florida, it occupies a very special place in the State University System of Florida.
It has established relationships with eight research centres and a national laboratory so that students can determine their research horizon in different projects.
FAMU remains a crucial university in years to come due to its commitment to academic achievement, culture, as well as social involvement.
