The University of Florida is the state's flagship public research university, founded in 1853 and situated in Gainesville, Florida. It has received recognition for its academic performance; according to U.S. News & World Report, UF is 30 on the list of national universities.
UF has 16 colleges and over 150 research centres and institutions and is home to a large variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
